Surviving the Coming Disaster
Attempted once again to watch a "warning" video that would tell me how to survive...I can't do it. They bait so long I can't stay with it. I guess I'll die...but I am expecting that sooner or later that will happen anyway, so who's to say I wasn't supposed to die in a disaster.
I watched a program on public television about Carol Burnett. I have enjoyed her performances, but somehow when you start getting details it changes. I want to know...she is an icon of my youth. But what is they say familiarity breeds contempt. She's famous, she funny, but she's a stumbling bumbling human just like everyone of us. Her success on the stage does not make her the example to follow. No one is worthy of following. Television for all its promise and sometimes success at entertaining and educating is really just a waster of time.
Again once more, I need to set priorities. Remind myself what is true. List again my highest and best use at this time in my life and then set about DOING. I am great at thinking...not so great at DOING. "Be doers of the word and not just hears only." James said it...he referenced looking in the mirror and forgetting what we look like or forgetting our "image." HNV says "what kind of man he is."
Who am I - what kind of woman am I? I know that I am God's woman servant. I don't fret to be a man or famous, although I like to be appreciated. I just really want to do something that matters to someone. God has let me matter to those in my small circle and that is satisfying. To be a pipe...I prayed that...a conduit of God's love and truth. This week: the anxiety producing THINGS or ATTITUDES that are vexing me...
1) knowing that Charlie disapproves of the class...knowing that he's going to try and thwart the effort
2) Kristy's snarky comment to mom...it makes me want to snipe back, but I know that's wrong. I am going to send notes and pray. I cannot do anything, but God can I am sure.

Grandma again- Oh so thankful.
This blog started not long before I was going to be a grandma the first time. we started that crazy store, "Again Once More" just to keep Vada mind off conceiving. I was sure she'd conceive slow...well she and Charlie have done it again. So far, I know, Charlie, Sr knows, I'd bet money that Olive knows, but they want to surprise everyone. It's beyond my grasp the good life that God has given to me. It all seems like a dream...I know that I've been unhappy, troubled at times and I surely have been a sinner, but somehow God is showering me with unbelievable favor.
I am thankful that the mini-storage stood thru the storm...we have a livlihood that is good for us, but also for the kids...they can explore and try things. I am thankful for William Smith in Glasgow and for the lure of basketball that brought Owen into his sphere of influence. I am thankful for Bailey Anderton, who has captured the attention (the heart?) of Micah McNally. A good woman, to finish what I hope I helped plant in my sons. I am cautiously optimistic about Lindsey Heiser. God knows and His plans are best. So your will be done.
I can't worry about Callie and Jacob, because I know His hand is on them. What happens I believe will be sanctioned by God. They need only my prayers and sometimes a little advice.
How do I ever stop being Thankful for Stephen McNally? God's gift to me in my spouse surpasses all but salvation. This man who loves to work, who has provided such bounty for us with God's help. This man who lets me be me. This man who has trusted me with the business, the money, the children and his heart. I hope that I can pay Stephen back the love I owe him. Perfect? not quite, but oh what he has been to me is (except for the church) been wonderful. Even the difference style of worship is a blessing to me.
Different like Jesus with his heart in mine
Not my will but his suits me just fine
today in all, I'll my life his way,
I'm different like Jesus since I heard him say,
I'm the way the truth and the life
No one can come to the Father except through me.
That's all I remember of that crazy VBS song. I want to be different like Jesus.
But now I"m thankful for my Buckaroo and for my little unknown grandchild. What about you Buckaroo and now its what about you Kangaroo? My little Joey! Okay that works for me...Micah just back from down under...works for girl or boy...

Getting Married in Great Brittain
Wedding flowers are scattered by a small girl preceding the English bride and her wedding party, who walk together to the wedding chapel or the wedding site. The flowered path and symbolic walk express hope for the bride's path through life to be happy and lovely. English bridesmaids wear wedding dresses very much like the bride's, so she cannot be singled out by any jealous evil wishers, who might curse her for her happiness.
Brides sew a good luck charm, such as the silver horseshoe of royal British brides, to the hem of their wedding dresses. Old English wedding tradition also calls for the bride to carry a horseshoe, streaming with ribbons, for good luck.
English Wedding Ceremony
Traditionally, an English couple getting married will exchange their vows outside the wedding chapel doorway, allowing the ceremony to be witnessed by anyone who might want to watch.
Traditional English Wedding Receptions
Traditional English wedding cake is a fruitcake, usually made with raisins, ground almonds, cherries and marzipan. The top layer of the wedding cake is called the "christening cake" which the couple is saves for the baptism of their first child.
The fruitcake is served at the wedding reception along with another traditional cake -- the groom's cake -- which originated during the Tudor period. It was once English custom for this to be a fruitcake as well, but today, the groom's cake is likely to be chocolate.
A unique Victorian wedding reception event is called a 'ribbon pull'. A sterling silver charm is purchased for each of the bridesmaids. A ribbon is tied to each one, and the baker places them between layers of the wedding cake as it is being assembled. Before the bride and groom share their first slice of cake, the bridesmaids gather so that ech can pull one ribbon, claiming for herself a future good promise.
The wedding tradition of tying shoes to the cars of newlyweds also began in England during the Tudor period. Originally, wedding reception guests threw shoes at the newlyweds as they were leaving the church for good luck. The modern tradition is to tie shoes to the honeymoon vehicle. What I want
I want a beautiful wedding for Callie. Not because she's my favorite but because she always is willing to take what comes without complaining.
Vada's wedding was good enough, but it was other poeple's doing mostly. I wish we'd had music. I wish we'd had a little more time for her once in a life time day.
I think Katy's day will be fine...she'll settle for nothing less and so even if I'm too old to get it done..she's make it special and I intend if I'm able to help it happen.
Callie, my dancing and laughing girl. She maybe has found ever after the first time. She deserves it. He seems like he deserves it too. I am afraid sometimes that it is too good to be true. I expect that there will be a parting of the ways before the joining. Dobson wrote about it.
Love Must Be ToughSpecial at Callie: 1) Dancing spot 2) So many friends 3) Good hearted the bells and the tying of the hands outside http://greenweddingshoes.com/a-mythical-tune-irish-wedding-traditions/ Irish Wedding Traditions The Irish Claddagh Ring An Irish bride's wedding ring is called a Claddagh ring. It is a heart held by two hands with the heart topped by a crown. The hands represent faith, the crown symbolizes honor, and the heart signifies love. The ring’s motto is: “Let love and friendship reign.” If a woman wears a Claddagh Ring on her right hand with the heart facing outward toward the end of her finger she is signifying that she is a single woman, free to see whomever she desires. If the ring is worn on the right hand with the heart facing inward, toward the woman’s knuckle, then she is signifying that she is engaged. And finally, if a Claddagh Ring is worn on the left hand it means that the woman is married. Wedding Day Traditions in Ireland An old Irish tradition calls for the wedding couple to walk to the church together before exchanging their wedding vows. As they walk down the main street to the chapel, onlookers would not only throw rice to bless the marriage, but larger items as well, such as pots and pans. The traditional Irish bride often wears a blue wedding dress, rather than a white dress. This is because blue symbolized purity in ancient times. It wasn’t until the year 1499 that a white wedding dress began to symbolize virginity and purity. English lavender, an ancient symbol of love, loyalty, devotion and even luck is often mixed with the bride’s wedding flowers to help insure a happy and long-lasting union Another tradition is for the bride to braid her hair for her wedding day. Braided hair is an ancient symbol of feminine power and luck. Another symbol of luck is to be married on St. Patrick's Day, considered the luckiest wedding anniversary date in Ireland. An Irish Honeymoon The Irish translation for "honeymoon" is mi na meala, which means “the month of honey.” It was an Irish custom for the newlyweds to spend a month together drinking honeyed wine, secluded, in case their families tried to separate them. This was especially true if the couple had eloped. The belief was that after a month had passed the bride would become pregnant and her family would then desire her to remain with her new husband. Even today many couples mix ancient beliefs with modern customs to create wedding traditions which pay homage to the past while at the same time keeping pace with the present. Trevon Martin
The sad tale of this young man is frightening. A man speaking on a news show said that he didn't advocate violence, but without a charge of murder then there would be rioting and violence. I gathered that the best thing that could happen is public execution of Mr. Zimmerman. Maybe a televised execution to satisfy Mr. Sharpton.

Presidential Elections
I don't think time moved this fast in 1980 when I experienced the first Presidential Election in which I could vote. I know I wasn't nearly as into the details or ups and downs of the primaries and lead-up to November 2. I think today I'm more aware of how politicians are the threat to our lives and to free enterprise. It matters much more than I knew in 1980.

MI and AZ Primaries
A week from today, we get to have a say in the Republican Primary. I am very happy that my one vote will be counted this time. It was so disappointing to have John McCain foisted on us last Presidential cycle. It was as if they picked someone to lose. I dispair with Mr. President Obama in office. I am of the opinion that every inch of decline he oversees is part of the planned agenda.
I like the song Martin Luther penned and hold to the line, "And though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet." I am concerned that we will be called to test as so many of our christian brothers and sisters abroad are being tested with violence. I pray that we will be faithful to our maker.
I think another election of Mr. President Obama and we will have to choose punishment from the U.S. Government or obedience to God. I pray I'm ready.

Elections
Again once more there are elections upcoming. I am happy that the Republican Presidential Nominee slot will still be open when this Super Tuesday comes. I remember feeling really angry and distressed that we had no say in choosing Senator McCain as the nominee in 2008. I am a nonenity as far as the Republican Party is concerned. They call the house and ask for money, but they really don't give a flying fig about my life, my opinion or my fears of the creeping socialism that is ruining this country for my children and grandchildren and beyond.
I do not watch (if I can avoid) it any main stream media news and I avoid the propaganda of Hollywood. I wouldn't watch the Oscars unless I was paid a large sum of money. I am insulted by their elitist attitude.
I and my contemporaries have fewer excuses for being fooled by the liars that are holding the microphone today. Maybe the uneducated of the past could be forgiven for hearing a Walter Cronkite or some movie star espouse nonsense and buying it. I think that for the most part what the left espouses is easier and more appealing in the short run. I reject it. I am not interested in the easy lie. I think the easy lie leads to misery...I have such sympathy for Whitney Houston and other celebrities who were sold the lie of "feel" better by prescription drugs that eventually killed them. All lies of this nature kill eventually...they kill bodies, spirits, hope and dreams. If you don't believe me, take a look around a Democratically controlled state or city...there is a lot of death and disappointment.
Something given to us never means as much or grows us the way something we earn or accomplish.

Gloom, Dispair and Agony on Me
We watched HeeHaw and I loved the spot where Roy Clark did "Gloom, Dispair and Agony on Me" That really encapsulates my emotions tonight. The Crescents lost, it looked bad. Katy was named District 8-3A All District Team. She did look very good at times this year.

Wed.nes.day.
I weighed 212 today. I really want to be under 200, but it seems so hard. The weight-watchers online renewed itself, so I think between me and this blog only, I'll try again. Again.1ce.More.
I am trying to copy the book of I John. I need to be "in the light." I am struggling to be "involved" in the body of Christ.
I watched all of Mr. President Obama's speech last night. I am so confused. He hates us right? It didn't sound like it. I've heard is speeches before, this was so different. It was the tone of someone who loves his country. That is not the impression I have formed from previous comments. He said we need to trust each other. I may have to have intensive therapy to ever trust a Democrat. I am confident (to borrow a saying I've heard all my life) that if I was on-fire (a white, christian conservative) Mr. President Obama would not even spit on me.
This morning I knew that what we are experiencing together at the office as a family is a new stage of growth. We are growing into what comes next. Vada has been absorbing the knowledge of our small business and now Owen is also. It is a trial for them to learn it, but this is my hope for exit. Someone will see what I've seen and will take it forward. We will work and keep supporting each other. This family business will work. Maybe I'm a little glad we didn't sell last year.

January 19, 2012 - This is the day...
I know we should...
Let go and let God
He did make this day, so we should rejoice in it
I should "don't worry, be happy."
But it is auction day and I don't like it. I have to wait on people to show up and do what they are supposed to do. They are by definition already past defaulting on their responsibility. Bottom line, I don't like drawing the hard line. This may explain why I have some of my delinquencies...I'm a noodle-spined landlord.

Julianna Moore - Sarah Palin
I am conservative. I have strong beliefs. It just hurts to read articles and comments from people, like Julianna Moore, who are beautiful, smart, successful and clearly, completely against me. I feel the hate. It is hard to watch a movie with an actress that would erase you completely if she could. The comments she made about her role as Sarah Palin and divisiveness was what I expected it would be, but I accepted the teased bait for the article, hoping it wouldn't be. The comments from the public that followed were typically vitriolic. Of course actors and actresses are entitled to opinions, but theirs carry more weight than the rest of ours. It is offensive that someone like Meryl Streep will play Margaret Thatcher. How can Ms. Thatcher be treated well by someone who openly admits to "being on the other side." Julianna Moore has "no respect" for Sarah Palin, yet these women will benefit from the accomplishments of people they disrespect and no doubt will perpetuate their dislike to others in subtle ways they represent these women in these films.
"The man with the microphone" has the power. The entertainment industry has exerted incredible influence over the society we live in. I don't believe it has been all negative, but many God-haters and America-haters have held sway. Our lives and nation has been altered forever by their representations and opinions and spin on people and events. Again Once More I am disappointed, but then, I am conservative, I have strong beliefs and I just can't see things the same way Ms. Moore and Ms. Streep do. Unfortunately they will negatively portray women who I can admire. I suppose the only positive in this is that I can still believe in spite of all this influence. Yes, they have power and influence, but not all-power and they are not the only influence in this country/world.

I am still here, but the store is still gone!
I gave away alot, there is still a bank account so I can pay the most recent, but hopefully final bill.
We received the prop. tax bill for the store. It came yesterday and coincidently a lady from assessors office came by for information.v I asked her for help with finalizing this account and with changing the addresses on several BRMS bills. She was willing.
I totaled up all the property tax bill and for once, I have more money in savings than I needed for the tax bill, a first.
I am trying to diet. I took PlexiSlim with the Accelerator pill. I am excelerated all right. My mouth feels like I took a decongestant and I'm hot. Yesterday it felt like current running down my arms. I am a little more active, but the weight is not really coming off. I tried weight watchers, but I don't like being limited! Of course I need to be limited.
We're deleting the Again Once More Facebook...Ella Berry is relagated to Vada's spare bedroom.
All that really matters is being with God in the end. I really believe God's handling everything.

Asking Again Once More for HELP
Dear Father in Heaven...I know you've listened to me so many times, but you've helped me, I am bold to ask for more. Help with my daughter Katy. I ask you to bless her with a close friendship to you. She is practically grown, but not completely...she is not thrilled with me...which is understandable. So I ask you to help me love her, hold her accountable, and not to ever stop bringing her before you...the HELPER that never fails.
Thanks for Gabriel...thanks for helping Vada with her delivery of such a fine son.
Please continue to be with Sharon...and please Father, may you satisfy her heart's desire for her daughters. Bless her with peace of mind and for the rest of us, heal her, so she can stay longer...in all things though, Let your will be done...
Bless Owen with wisdom to make his life choices...Be with Micah as he finishes his summer and returns to college. Please be with Callie and help her to be well. Thanks for the ball camp opportunity...watch over the girls as they travel and bring them home safe. Help us get through volleyball this year...
Forgive me for my sins...I won't list them here...too many and too embarrassing. Thank you for the gift of your Sons life to cover these offences. In his (Jesus) name I pray...Amen

Last Day in April
This has been a very full month.
Today Callie won 1st in shot and discus in 2A regionals held in Tylertown MS.
I read an article about purposeful economic down-sizing...Can I do it? I have thought about it and attempted it, but I want to do it. Shed the excess that binds me...live close to God and fully in submission.
What can I let go of today? Clothes first...if I haven't worn it...I'll let it go to the auction unit for donation to Panama Missions. I will fill at least one box each day starting now.
I will read my Bible every day...I will resist the devil. Help me Lord.
